Q: How durable is granite?
A: Granite counters will last the lifetime of your home. Granite is so durable, it is often used commercially for exterior and interior applications.
Q: Will granite counters stain?
A: Granite is virtually impervious to stain, and for extra protection, we seal every piece with a non-toxic sealer that will last as long as the counters themselves.
Q: How do I clean my granite counters?
A: Anything from warm, soapy water to diluted bleach is acceptable. They will not hurt the counter's shine or durability.
Q: Can I cut on granite?
A: Yes, but it is possible to scratch a granite counter's surface using heavy pressure. Additionally, granite will dull knives when they are used against it.
Q: Where does granite come from? What is it?
A: Quarried all over the world, including in Georgia, granite is formed from molten magma that cools slowly under the surface of the earth. It is made of extremely hard, non-reactive minerals such as quartz.
